The Next WTCHP-STAC Meeting Will Be February 9th, 2023

Last week NIOSH announced the date of the next meeting of the WTCHP-STAC, the Science and Technical Advisory Committee for the World Trade Center Health Program. This body helps the program’s administrator determine how conditions get added to the program’s list of covered conditions, which conditions should be considered for inclusion, and provide an opportunity for the the WTC community to weigh in on research priorities going forward.

At present the committee has two members that are a part of the student 9/11 Survivor community, which is great. They’ll be helping advocate for StuyHealth members and other WTC-exposed young adults as they discuss the guidelines for the inclusion of new conditions.

The program also allows 9/11 survivor community members to submit written testimony. (There are slots for spoken testimony as well but they are unfortunately already filled.) If you’d like to see the meeting agenda and submit written testimony commenting on one of the topics under discussions, instructions and links are available here:

The February meeting will be held remotely and, as always, the meeting will be open to the public. Anybody wishing to watch the live webcast can do so at the public link: https://www.ustream.tv/channel/QyXBRzYjVCS.
